For over 50 years, much of Paper Pak Industries' product line has been based on the use of recycled materials. PPI's ongoing search for new ways to create sustainable products has produced several innovative ways to better protect the environment.

Zap and UltraZapEnviroPak are a range of Clean Green products that improve the natural disposal of absorbent food safety pads.

Zap and UltraZapEnviroPak Natural Tissue food safety pads feature a natural tissue core that is biodegradable, compostable and just as sanitary, safe, and absorbent as bleached white tissue.

PPI's natural tissue food safety pads are made from 100% secondary, pre-consumer fiber, therefore saving our precious forests, conserving natural resources, reducing and composting waste, cleaning process water, and emitting fewer greenhouse gases.

The natural tissue is made using a chlorine/bleach-free process that leaves a smaller carbon footprint and with a 380° dryer that effectively kills any potential bacteria. PPI's natural tissue is approved by the USDA and FDA for food contact.

UltraZapEnviroPak Terra absorbent food safety pads utilize a high wet strength tissue instead of a polymer sheet on the outside of our highly absorbent, FDA-approved natural tissue cellulose core.

UltraZapEnviroPak Terra absorbent food pads are biodegradable and compostable per ASTM 6400 standards and comply with FDA/USDA (USA) and European food packaging standards.

In addition to improving the merchandising of fresh protein by locking in moisture during the selling cycle, UltraZapEnviroPak Terra food safety pads make a simple, yet significant statement to your customers that you care about the environment.

Zap and UltraZapEnviroPak Bio Poly absorbent food safety pads feature a polyethylene backing that will degrade (as per ASTM D3826) and biodegrade (as per ASTM D5988) in most municipal solid waste systems. The degradation is triggered by heat and UV light and is enhanced by mechanical stress and moisture

The enhanced polyethylene in Zap and UltraZapEnviroPak Bio Poly absorbent food safety pads complies with FDA (USA) and SCF (Europe) applicable food packaging regulations.

When combined with our highly absorbent, FDA approved cellulose core, Zap and UltraZapEnviroPak Bio Poly absorbent food safety pads lock in moisture during the selling cycle and respond accordingly during the biodegradation process.
