Military

The global military health protection network is benefiting from a new weapon to safely transport military personnel in all medical environments.

Paper Pak Industries, working with a team of military medical experts, has developed an innovative, portable litter designed to safely transport military personnel.

APLS, the Absorbent Patient Litter System is designed to quickly relocate injured military personnel to the appropriate medical facility where necessary medical procedures can be safely administered.

Constructed with durable canvas and a highly absorbent cellulose core, APLS will support the weight of a soldier while absorbing blood, body fluids and other wet solutions.

APLS also supports patient warming and is compatible with all litter systems as well as a kit/set package for hypothermia support.

APLS's compact and lightweight design enables a soldier or medic to carry this life-saving tool in their day pack or ruck sack.

Each APLS is individually packed in a water-proof bag, thus protecting the cellulose core from water damage and possible contamination.

APLS includes several features that are suited for all echelons of military medical care:

  • Up to 4.5 liters of blood & bodily fluid contained with easy disposal
  • Supports 420 - 450 LBS (190.51 - 204.12 Kg) wet or dry
  • Leak proof poly backing
  • Built-in thermal properties for warmth during transport
  • Straps to ensure patient safety
  • 8 Handles added to allow for carrying and easy transport
  • Locker for patient docs and personal effects
  • Bottom straps to secure APLS to stretchers/litters
  • Lightweight, but strong
  • Compressed vacuum packed/re-sealable or bulk packed

Material

APLS is constructed with (left to right) a highly absorbent cellulose core, a durable canvas, and a unique polypropylene backing that prevents liquids from leaking through the pad.

Handles

APLS includes a total of six reinforced handles that allow as many as six people to safely transport the affected individual.

Locker

Each APLS includes a sealable pocket locker for patient documentation, medical notes and personal effects.

Straps

APLS is equipped with two heavy-duty straps to ensure patient safety during transport. The straps can be adjusted to fit the size and orientation of the patient.

Binding

The perimeter binding provides additional strength to the APLS while also serving as a barrier for any excess fluids that move through the cellulose core.

APLS Is a Patient's Ally During What Military Doctors Call the "Golden Hour" - the Period Immediately After Injury When the Patient, If Not Rescued, May Experience Life-Threatening Blood Loss.

Emergency rescues and evacuations will be expedited now that APLS is available in the field.
