Paper Pak Industries Receives the Silliker Excellent Certificate of Recognition
Paper Pak Industries, the preferred supplier of absorbent products to the food, medical and safety industries, announced that it has received the Silliker Excellent Certificate of Recognition for both its West and East Coast manufacturing facilities.
Silliker, a privately owned company that is part of Institut Mérieux, provides food manufacturers, restaurants, caterers and retailers with consulting, testing, auditing, research and training services that help assure quality, safety and nutrition.

The Silliker "Food and Non-Food Packaging Materials Audit" awarded Paper Pak Industries' Washington, GA facility with a score of 98.4% in June, 2010 and its La Verne, CA facility with a score of 98.0% in July, 2010.
The Silliker "Food and Non-Food Packaging Materials Audit" includes a comprehensive on-site assessment that encompasses the following nine key areas:
- Food Safety Systems
- Quality Systems
- Grounds, Building and Equipment
- Pest Control
- Employee Practices
- Receiving, Storage and Shipping
- Plant Sanitation
- Processing
- Food Defense
Paper Pak Industries Chief Executive Officer and President Ron Jensen noted, "The Silliker Excellent Certificate of Recognition for our California and Georgia manufacturing facilities is a strong third party validation that our commitment to good manufacturing practices is working exceptionally well. The 2010 audit results represent an improvement from 2009, as PPI continues to implement smart procedures and policies that promote the food safety of our absorbent packaging products."
